John Toothaker
Partner, Private Wealth Manager
Professional
As a founding member of NoxNumis, John spends his time meeting with clients, supporting his team of advisors, and collaborating with NoxNumis’ leadership team on business development initiatives.
John’s primary focus, however, is on being a problem-solver for his clients. He takes an in-depth approach to understanding what they have and what they’re trying to accomplish before putting together a plan that aligns their wealth with their long-term goals. He works to simplify his clients’ financial lives, making their portfolios more efficient while thoroughly addressing any risks or opportunities for growth.
His hope is to help his clients enjoy more time with their families and pursue their personal interests, rather than feel overwhelmed with the details of their financial lives. He strives to improve their quality of life by providing clarity and helping them minimize their tax obligations, preserve wealth, and leave an impactful legacy.
*John currently holds the honor of being a Top 10 HTK Summit Advisor.
Areas of Focus
John works closely with successful business owners, and he specializes in helping people prepare their exit strategies. He helps his clients transition out of their key roles in the business while preparing the next generation of leadership to be responsible stewards of their legacy.
His clients appreciate having a trusted guide and partner who can take the reins, especially when they don’t have the time or desire to manage it on their own.
Education & Background
Before joining the financial services industry full time, John was a teacher. And while he loved the work, he enjoys leveraging those same skills today to teach his clients, helping them understand their options and broaden their financial knowledge. He began with a part-time venture in the insurance business before earning his securities licenses in 2008 and transitioning to a full-time advisory role.
John graduated from Pratt Community College, where he served as student government president while playing baseball. He later graduated cum laude with honors with a bachelor’s degree in education from Emporia State. In 2016, John was honored as Pratt Community College’s Alumnus of the Year.
Family
John and his wife Crystal enjoy spending time with their three sons, Brock, Carter, and Will. All three boys grew up playing competitive baseball, and John has spent many years coaching and attending their games and tournaments. Both John and Crystal enjoy getting involved in their sons’ hobbies, from fishing and golfing to sports-cards trading, live music and shopping.
In their free time, their family enjoys relaxing at home, watching 80s movies, hanging out with friends, and too often having memorable misadventures while traveling. As a family, they are well on their way to a goal of visiting every MLB stadium by trying to visit new stadiums throughout the year. So far, they have visited 19 of the 30.
